IT has notified us that Mage2 will be migrated to a new VM in the upcoming months. This is necessary to upgrade the OS from Scientific Linux, which is no longer maintained, to Rocky Linux. This new VM will be placed in a different part of the DOI network (in a DMZ). The deadline for shutting down old mage2 is technically in August but that can probably be pushed back if we aren't ready. Both the old mage2 and the new mage2 will be run in parallel for a while so that we slowly move over.

This milestone marks when we complete the migration over to the new mage2 and allow IT to shut down the current one.
