SxS QRev for SurfVelTools
Would it be possible to bring in ADCP SxS data into SurfVelTools in order to find the velocity profile with Vmax? I know Travis Knight is working on a new the QRevIntMS which is in Beta testing. Being able to bring in a file from QRevIntMS might be the better route than using a SxSPro file since it is ADCP agnostic. I'm not sure if this a project for the QRevIntMS programmer or the SurVelTools programmer, or both. I was making a dSET 120 second vertical under ice SxS measurement at Eagle Minturn and thought about how this would be an easier workflow to find Vmax than getting out a FlowTracker or doing SMBAs. If you wanted to make just 3 verticals to verify vMax the workflow would be a little faster using a section-by-section method instead of collecting three stationary moving bed tests in RiverSurveyor or in WinRiver. You can manually change sample time to any length. I guess that's another question, how long of a sample time should be required? SMBAs typically are 300 seconds. The IQ uplooker averages over 120 seconds, so maybe that's a reasonable time. It would be easiest workflow if we could use 40 seconds or eventually the dSET observation time and just pull from the measurement made at the sensor's location. Trying to think how this would be easiest for field techs. Let me know what you think. Best regards, Tony
