Project overview

This repository

1. Uses R programming language to create three data-driven data visualizations. The code to reproduce these visualizations is in the R_src directory. The first script downloads data from ScienceBase and the subsequent three each have processing data steps and then the code to create ggplot visualizations.
2. Builds a javascript website using data visualization to communicate the motivation for the USGS Social and Economic Drivers program, how social factors shape vulnerability to water insecurity, highlight how certain indicators and populations are disproportionately affected by water insecurity, and discuss how intersectionality are crucial for communicating and improving water security conditions in the Western U.S.
