Clean up to support and/or match geomagio scripts

These changes should the the last that are needed to support conversion of geomagio scripts (realtime data processing) to use the "new" geomag SNCLs. It also includes some superficial changes to the geomag-filter typer application so that it is more consistent with the geomagio scripts.
