Multiple Processing Queues
Currently PDL processes product notifications in the order in which they were received. All notifications from all sources and for any event (i.e., regardless of event age, event size, etc.), are processed in serial by a single processing queue. There may be reasons to use multiple processing queues.
Queues at different stages of processing
- Consider separate queues for notification receivers.
- Consider separate queues for notification listeners (e.g., indexer)
Queueing priority order
- Consider queueing by event age, or other event criteria
- Consider separate queues for each contributor
Consider pros/cons of each. Consider how they may affect resulting catalog. If ComCat is reloaded using these new queues, will new ComCat be the same as old ComCat?
