Improvements in response to issues

Sophia Crouch requested to merge domain_and_input_controls into shinyapp

Includes fixes to tables and plot on second tab and improved user feedback.

No urgency, but at a good spot to merge back before moving forward on some changes that may take a bit longer to integrate. Also want to give USGS a chance to test out these changes.

Ready to merge after review by Shanna.
