Context

I wanted to propose some edits to the code documentation. I thought it would be easier to open an MR with the changes than listing them elsewhere. I understand this might muddy the commit history of this newly minted repo, so let me know if you'd like to catalogue the changes elsewhere.

• Function documentation standardization. Mainly changing param fields to use the same lingo when referring to data types (e.g., Character vs chr).
