Created this MR to follow through on all of the processing and data fetching steps, make them more linear with the fetch step required first for down-stream loading, and thus in its own contained Quarto script. Then subsequent scripts now have a check for data step that warns user to finish fetching the data before proceeding.

Other minor changes:

  • Update README and references list with missing citations
  • Documenting process more consistently/thoroughly

Running the scripts in the order of 01_...qmd, 02_...qmd, 03_...qmd, and 04_...qmd should produce the images shown in in #17 in the public/vectorized_pngs/ folder. Since these are identical those already on Sciencebase, I did not re-upload them.
